RSVPs, your guest list view, and your account
How to RSVP and change it, plus-ones and the waitlist, series RSVPs, what guests see, signing in, your profile, notification settings, and deleting your account.

This is the guest side of Luau: answering an invite, what you can see, and the settings that are yours.
RSVP
- Open the invite link (a text, email, group chat, or a PartyPass tap all land on the same event page).
- Tap Going, Maybe, or Can't at the bottom of the page. Some hosts pick an emoji set that labels them yes / maybe / can't.
- If you're not signed in, Luau asks for your phone number (or email) and texts a six-digit code. There's no password. Your answer is kept while you sign in and submitted for you.
Changed your mind? Tap a different button. You can't clear an RSVP, only switch it. Choosing Can't releases any volunteer shifts you'd claimed and keeps your supply pledges (see How guests sign up).
Time zones: event times are shown in the event's own time zone, with the abbreviation, so a 7 PM CDT dinner reads 7 PM CDT wherever you are.
Plus-ones
If the host allows them, a Bringing anyone? stepper appears next to Going and Maybe, up to 12. On the guest list you appear with +N; the host doesn't see plus-ones' names. Plus-ones don't get their own reminders or calendar entries, and they don't become anyone's mutual; the person who RSVP'd does. One exception: if a member of your household (from training Kai) is on Luau and you add them as a plus-one, they get a real RSVP of their own with their own reminders.
Waitlist
When an event has a guest cap and it's full, tapping Going saves you as Waitlist. As spots free up, waitlisted guests move to Going automatically in the order they joined, with a notice: You're off the waitlist! 🎉 A spot opened up — you're Going to [event]. Maybe RSVPs don't count toward the cap. On a sign-up board, waitlisted guests can pledge supplies but can't claim roles until they're Going.
Series (recurring events)
A series page lists every upcoming date. RSVP to dates one at a time, or use the RSVP to all upcoming card with a Bringing guests? count (the host can turn this card off).
The card offers Going and Maybe.
The card offers Going, Maybe, and Can't. If a date clashes with something else on your Luau calendar you'll be asked to RSVP all anyway or Skip the conflicts.
Using the card again changes all upcoming dates at once (on the web, backing out of every date means tapping Can't on each). Hosts can hide the card with Allow "RSVP to all" on the series page in the iPhone app. If the host cancels one date, you're told (The Saturday session is off — the rest of the schedule still stands) and your other RSVPs are untouched.
The guest list
The Guests section on the event page has Going, Maybe, Can't, and (when someone's been waitlisted) Waitlist tabs, with plus-ones as +N. Most events ask you to RSVP before showing it (Must RSVP to see guest list). Hosts can hide the whole list or just the Can'ts and Maybes. Hosts see your name, photo, and RSVP; never your phone number or email, and never whether you opened the invite.
Where your events are
Dashboard has Upcoming, Invited (with a count of unanswered invites), Hosting, and Past. Series can show Next only or Show all.
Home has the same Upcoming, Invited, Hosting, and Past filters; the other tabs are Mutuals, Hangvites, and Profile.
Notifications
Dashboard → Settings → Notifications (Choose how Luau reaches you) has Email, Text (SMS), and Push switches for four groups:
- Transactional — RSVPs, confirmations, cancellations tied to your own actions.
- Reminders — week-of and day-of nudges, host digests.
- Updates & tips — welcome notes and occasional product news.
- Kai suggestions — proactive planning nudges.
Everything is on by default and you can turn any of it off. Push applies to the iPhone app; without it, that switch does nothing. Every Luau email also has Stop emails for this event (or this series) and an unsubscribe link; the one-click unsubscribe turns off everything except transactional messages.
There's no notifications screen in the app yet. Push permission is iPhone's own setting (Settings → Luau → Notifications); the channel switches above are on the web at app.luau.co → Dashboard → Settings.
Replying STOP to a Luau text stops Luau's texts to that number. Sign-in codes are sent separately and keep working.
Your profile
Dashboard → Profile: Add Profile Picture / Manage Profile Picture (JPG, PNG, or WEBP under 10 MB), the AI Assistant card, calendar sync, and the account panel where you change your name, email, and phone number.
Profile: tap the camera badge to change your photo; Add email / Edit email for your email. Your name and phone number can be changed on the web.
Blocking someone
Open a person from Mutuals and tap ••• → Block, or use Block host on an event. Blocked people can't invite you (or be invited by you), and you both drop off each other's mutuals.
Blocking is done in the iPhone app; the block applies everywhere. On the web or Android, email support@luau.co to report someone (see Safety).
Sign out
Profile → More → Sign Out.
Use the account menu (your avatar) in the top bar of app.luau.co.
Delete your account
Profile → More → Account → Delete Account. Type DELETE to confirm. Your profile is hidden right away; sign back in with the same phone number within 90 days to restore everything, after which the deletion is permanent. Events you hosted and RSVPs you sent stay in the record for the people who attended, with your name shown as Former Member. Upcoming events you host aren't cancelled automatically: they stay open to guests and keep sending reminders, and a co-host can keep editing them but can't delete them (hosting can't be transferred). Delete any event you don't want to go ahead before you delete your account.
Email support@luau.co and include the phone number on your account; we'll delete it for you with the same 90-day grace period. The same note about hosted events applies.
Things guests sometimes ask that Luau doesn't do
- Message the host in Luau. There's no in-app messaging; use whatever contact you already have.
- Snooze one reminder. Use the email footer's Stop emails for this event, or turn off Reminders.
- Opt out of Hangvites. No switch yet; contact support@luau.co.
- Pay for anything. Luau is free to use for hosts and guests. Everything in these articles, including Kai training and nudges, is free; Luau+ is an optional paid tier (a $49 first-year preorder today) for extra Kai features.
- Get a confirmation with only a phone number. RSVP and sign-up confirmations go by push or email; with neither, you'll still get reminders, changes, cancellations, and waitlist notices by text. Add an email under Dashboard → Profile for confirmations.
