Questions people ask about paying for Luau.

Is Luau free?
Yes. Luau is free to use, with every feature included. Creating events, sending invites, text and email reminders, RSVPs, sign-up sheets, Hangvites, check-in, and Kai are all free for hosts, and guests never pay.
Is there a free trial or a free tier?
Neither. There is one Luau and it is free. There is no trial that expires, no usage cap that nudges you to upgrade, and no tier that holds a feature back.
Does Luau show ads?
No. There are no ads anywhere in Luau, on invite pages or in the app, and we do not sell your guest list. We think an invite is a bad place to be sold something.
Do I need a credit card to use Luau?
No. You sign up with a phone number or email and start planning. The only place a card is involved is the optional Luau+ preorder.
Do my guests have to pay or install anything?
No. Guests open your invite in any browser, RSVP with a phone number and a text code, and never pay. The iPhone app is optional for hosts.
Will Luau always be free?
The core of Luau is free today and we intend to keep it that way. We do plan to charge for Luau+, a set of premium features built around Kai as a full-time concierge. Everything on this page that is free now is not what Luau+ is.
What is Luau+ and what will it cost?
Luau+ turns Kai into your full-time event concierge: he answers guest questions in your voice, watches your calendar and your inner circle’s availability with permission, and sends you ready-to-go event ideas when the timing is right. It is planned at $99 a year after launch.
What do I get for preordering Luau+?

Are PartyPass tags free?
The PartyPass feature is included with every free Luau event. The physical NFC tags are sold separately, including custom-branded runs for organizations; tell us about your event on the PartyPass page and we will follow up with options.
